The 62nd Airlift Wing Command Post is the wing commander's 24/7 operations center; the eyes and ears of the entire installation.

The command post emergency actions cell monitors emergency response activity, base law enforcement, and responds to emergency action messages and readiness condition changes from higher headquarters. The CP also processes quick reaction checklists for local emergencies, command and control requirements and conducts operational reporting. During higher states of readiness and in times of emergencies the command post supports the battle staff, fully activating McChord Field's crisis response and management capability. It is CP's responsibility to keep 62nd AW leadership informed with vital information necessary to conduct the wing's mission.
