U.S. Air Force Capt. Jimmy Dimmick, 8th Airlift Squadron instructor pilot, was responsible for coordinating many of the aircrews, flights and evacuation missions that were operating in support of Operation Allies Refuge from mid to late August 2021. During Operation Allies Refuge, the United States evacuated more than 120,000 Afghan and U.S. citizens, military personnel and tons of cargo from Kabul, Afghanistan.
