Retired Gen. Walter Kross, former Air Mobility Command and United States Transportation Command commander, addressed during the Airlift/Tanker Association Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, June 14. During his time in uniform, he oversaw the deployment of one million troops and 900 tons of cargo during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He also managed the modernization of the Tunner 60K and Halvorsen 45K loading systems, which ultimately led to the successful deployment of troops following 9-11 and the War on Terror.
