Why is the grass so tall on McChord?

The tall grass alongside the sidewalk between the McChord Field lodging and the Civil Air Patrol building still remains uncut, June 1, 2017 on McChord Field, Wash. Numerous complaints have been received regarding the tall grass and lack of grounds maintenance on Joint Base Lewis-McChord and an effort is being made to address those concerns and explain why the base is in this current state, with the hopes that it is fixed within the next few months.
