JPADS drop

Cargo utilizing a joint precision airdrop system falls from a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft September 25, 2014, during a training mission near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. JPADS is a unique airdrop capability that allows for cargo delivery from altitudes beyond the range of many ground threats and often offset from the intended point of impact and places the airdropped cargo within meters of the planned point of impact.
