POW/MIA luncheon

Airman 1st Class Peter Nodland, 62nd Operations Support Squadron, right, listens as Thomas C. Nelson, a former Prisoner of War tells his story during a meet and greet at the McChord club Sept 18. Nelson was captured during the Battle of Santa Cruz by the Japanese destroyer Yugumo in 1942 while serving in the Navy as an aviation radioman aboard the USS Enterprise CV-6 and interned in Japan for the remainder of the war.
