McChord celebrates Special Olympics

62nd Security Forces Squadron members and Washington law enforcement officers participate in the annual Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run here May 29. The “Flame of Hope” arrived at McChord for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Washington Summer Games. McChord and Fort Lewis are teamed up to host more than 8,000 athletes, coaches and volunteers participating in the annual Summer Games. Events occur on McChord and Fort Lewis including aquatics, athletics (field events), cycling, power lifting, and soccer are part of this year's competition. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
