Rainier War is an annual exercise led by the 62d Airlift Wing designed to evaluate the ability to generate, employ and sustain in-garrison and forward deployed forces. During the exercise, Airmen will respond to scenarios that replicate today’s contingency operations and will address full-spectrum readiness against modern threats brought on by peer adversaries. 627th LRS supports Rainier War 23A
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Garian Thomas, refueling maintenance supervisor with the 627th Logistics Readiness Squadron, performs a limited technical inspection on an R-11 fuel truck during Exercise Rainier War 23A at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, Sept. 20, 2023. Rainier War is an annual exercise led by the 62d Airlift Wing designed to evaluate the ability to generate, employ and sustain in-garrison and forward deployed forces. The LTI performed by McChord’s refueling maintenance Airmen includes a 57-item inspection; this inspection prepares the fuel truck to be loaded onto the C-17 Globemaster III. During the exercise, Airmen will respond to scenarios that replicate today’s contingency operations and will address full-spectrum readiness against modern threats brought on by peer adversaries.
