U.S. Airmen with the simulated 7th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron prepare to load cargo onto a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft during Exercise Rainier War 22B at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Oct. 19, 2022. During this exercise, Air Mobility Command Airmen showcased the ability to provide fuel to fighter jets in designated locations so pilots do not have to return to their home stations for fueling or wait for an aerial refueling aircraft. Members of the 62d Airlift Wing, and their joint partners, loaded their own full R-11 refueler truck onto an aircraft and successfully refueled several fighter jets at various locations; the first time a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft has ever done this.
