Whether it's a hike to the summit of Mount St. Helens, a sightseeing trip to Seaside, Ore., or a seven day cruise on the Mexican Rivera, McChord Airmen have a host of summertime leisure experiences to choose from through Adventures Unlimited and Air Force Travel Online.

From July 16 to 27, in celebration of Rodeo 2007, Adventures Unlimited is offering a different trip each day.

The trips offer a little something for everyone, said program director Josh Boisvert, 62nd Services Squadron.

From local sightseeing trips to Seattle, Olympia, Leavenworth and Victoria, B.C., to activities such as an navigating an outdoor rock climbing course or going on a bungee jumping adventure, the trips have something for those who want to relax or get a workout, he said.

In August, Adventures Unlimited is offering a Camp-O-Rama, a free weekend camping event.
"It's great for families who just want to get out for the night," Mr. Boisvert said.

The event runs Aug. 11 and 12 at Holiday Park on base and has activities geared for children ages 11 and younger.

For those interested in vacations on a larger scale, Air Force Travel Online offers all Department of Defense members, active duty or retired, a chance to purchase vacation packages.

By visiting http://www.aftravelonline.com, Airmen and their families are not only offered the customer support and information they need to plan leisure activities, but they are also given assistance in locating the lowest possible military pricing for entertainment ticket venues and travel arrangements.

Once the customer has all the information he or she needs, he or she can go to Adventures Unlimited to pick up the tickets, according to the Web site.

The commissions from the purchases Airmen at McChord make helps fund the base's morale, welfare and recreation program, Mr. Boisvert said.
