When was the last time someone spoke with you about the importance of joining a professional organization? Some examples of professional organizations available on McChord Field include the Air Force Sergeant's Association, Company Grade Officer's Council, Top 3, 5/6 Club , Rising 4, Airmen Against Drunk Driving...the list goes on and on!

Having been a member of professional organizations for most of my career, I have learned to appreciate the value of membership. AFSA, for example, lends Airmen a voice on Capitol Hill and works diligently to ensure that benefits remain intact as promised. It continues to be effective because its members remain committed to making a difference through a unified voice.

The McChord Field Top 3 is another professional organization making a difference on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The central purpose of the Top 3 organization is to help develop Airmen and senior NCOs are in a unique position to accept the challenge. Senior NCOs are the key leaders making a difference in each and every squadron in the United States Air Force. These Airmen have advanced through the enlisted ranks and now have an obligation to develop the next generation of leaders.

Your McChord Field Top 3 hosts monthly professional developments seminars for junior NCOs and Airmen. The seminars focus on bullet writing, effective communication, standards and discipline. Additionally, the Top 3 hosts monthly senior NCO development sessions aimed at helping Senior NCOs complete professional military education Course 14 requirements.

Many more professional organizations exist in support of a wide array of causes. Take a moment and seek out meeting times and locations for the next professional organization that peaks your interest - you'll be glad that you did!
