In preparation for Team McChord's upcoming unit effectiveness inspection coming up in September, the Air Mobility Command inspector general has developed a survey geared to help enhance their inspection process.

The survey is being conducted to provide an opportunity for Team McChord Airmen, DOD civilians and family members to inform AMC IG about issues in the organization and to highlight what is working well and what is not. The IG will follow up on responses they receive from the survey when they visit McChord to conduct the UEI.

"The survey is a means of ensuring continuity and effectiveness through gaining an in-depth perspective from participants," said Lt. Col. Ken Kaupp, 62nd Airlift Wing inspector general chief of plans and programs.

The survey is open to all Team McChord Airmen, spouses and civilians and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The survey questions are based around the UEI's areas of focus, which include joint basing, quality of life, safety, readiness and mission effectiveness.

"I believe this new construct is a vast improvement and will allow us all to better utilize our time to fulfill the mission," said Kaupp.

The survey is open to anyone who has a working relationship with Team McChord

"Just because you don't wear the uniform, doesn't mean your ideas don't matter," said Kaupp. "We want feedback from Airmen and their spouses alike."

In order to gain the most effectiveness from the survey, the IG is requesting as much participation as possible.

"You play a part in shaping the upcoming UEI and the base as a whole through your participation," said Kaupp. "The only way we will know there are issues that need to be addressed, is by getting honest feedback from every level."
