U.S. Army Soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., conducted beyond line-of-sight fire direction center communications with team members back at JBLM while temporarily deployed to Royal Australian Air Force Base Townsville, Queensland, Australia, Aug. 23, 2024.

“Being here is such a great opportunity to train and innovate over thousands of miles across the Pacific with the team back at home station,” said Army 1st Lt. Brendan Rucinski, 1-3 Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Field Artillery Brigade, battalion liaison officer. “Our team is excited to work with our U.S. Air Force counterparts and with the Australian military members. Winning in the Pacific is important and this is a great group of people all working together to ensure Operation Kenney’s Return is a success.”

Projecting power, deterrence, and hope throughout the world is how this joint team is executing today’s global airlift mission.
