After months of preparation, Airmen from the 62nd Airlift Wing Maintenance Rodeo Team say they are prepared to win at Air Mobility Command's premier air competition, Rodeo.

"We've been taking care of this plane like no other," said Master Sgt. Patrick Remfrey, 62nd Maintenance Rodeo Team member. "We've fixed every minor discrepancy and kept it spotless."

Rodeo is a biennial international competition that focuses on mission readiness, featuring airdrops, aerial refueling and other events that showcase the skills of mobility crews from around the world.

The 62nd AW Rodeo Maintenance team consists of 12 primary and six back-up members from several different job specialties including crew chiefs and hydraulics specialists.

"We have Airmen from eight different career fields on our team," said Remfrey. "Each person brings their expertise to the table and we are continuing to learn from each other and refine our skills."

The maintenance team will be competing in daily pre- and post-flight observations and refueling events. Those events make up a large portion of the wing's overall score.

"Our team's score will actually make up one fourth of the wing's overall score," said Master Sgt. Seanjon Judkins, 62nd Maintenance Rodeo Team chief. "There is a high expectation and we've been working hard to ensure we meet, if not exceed, that expectation."
