Airmen assigned to the 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron maneuver a mobile truck mounted deicer on the McChord Field flightline as part of recovery efforts following a winter storm which accumulated more than nine inches of snow Jan. 20, 2012, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Deicing provides protection against ice buildup and snow contamination of critical controlled surfaces, engine inlets and sensors on the aircraft prior to launch.
