Master Sgt. Casey Holihan, 7th Airlift Squadron superintendent, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement during his deployment to Oqab, Kabul, Afghanistan, January to December, 2018.

Lt. Col. Jamil Musa, 7th AS commander, presented the medal during a ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Oct. 7, 2019.

During his deployment, Holihan led 45 North Atlantic Treaty Organization advisors from the U.S. and Turkish Air Forces. He also trained and mentored members of the Afghan air force. His Afghan students executed 22 missions across 29 provinces.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be awarded and wear the Bronze Star Medal,” Holihan said. “I cannot forget that the accomplishments listed on the medal could not have been done without the efforts of some of the finest total force air advisors on my team during my time in Kabul.”
