Lieutenant Colonel Dayton D. Blume is the Commander, 627th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. He is responsible for multifaced logistics integration across Joint Base Lewis-McChord including airfield and garrison support operations. His unit is comprised of 290 Airmen and Civilians supporting more than 350 units and an installation population of 44,209 military, 15,250 civilian and contract employees, and 54,465 family members.
Prior to this assignment, Lt Col Blume served as the J4 for the Joint Interagency Task Force supporting joint special operations around the globe. He has also served with the Defense Logistics Agency, Joint Special Operations Command, 101st Airborne Division, and numerous base-level postings.
Lt Col Blume has deployed in support of national priorities and has participated in crisis response operations worldwide.
A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Lt Col Blume commissioned through the Virginia Military Institute. He is married to Major Chelsi Blume, U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. They have three children—Dean, Braxton, Brylee—and an energetic bird dog.
