Maj. Patrick Milward is the Commander, 62d Maintenance Squadron, 62d Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord. As Commander, he is responsible for the readiness of 410 active duty and civilian personnel to provide world class maintenance for 40 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft in support of United States Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command combat, humanitarian and airdrop operations. Prior to his current position, the Major was the Director of Operations, 436th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware.
Maj. Milward graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in American History and a Minor in Military Sciences before receiving his commission as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in 2014. In 2018, Maj. Milward also earned a Master of Arts in History from Arizona State University. Prior to his current assignment, Maj. Milward served as the Director of Operations at the 436th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Dover AFB.
As the Director of Operations, Maj. Milward led the production operations for 348 Total Force personnel and 18 C-5M aircraft in the generation of 8K annual flying hours. Maj. Milward has served in a variety of maintenance, logistics and program office positions supporting C-5, MQ-1, MQ-9, F-16, B-1, B-52, KC-135, KC-46, E-3 and B-21 aircraft. Maj. Milward has also deployed in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
