Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Ober

Lt Col Timothy D. Ober is the Commander, 4th Airlift Squadron, 62d Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. In this capacity, Lt Col Ober is responsible for training, developing and equipping over 150 assigned Airmen to perform worldwide airlift operations in the C-17A Globemaster III. The 4th Airlift Squadron is also tasked by Air Mobility Command to safely, securely and reliably transport nuclear weapons and nuclear-related cargo in support of the Department of Defense’s nuclear enterprise.

Lt Col Ober was born in Portland, Oregon and entered the Air Force in 2007 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Program at the University of Southern California. He is a senior pilot with over 4,100 flight hours. During his career, he has served in the CENTCOM AOR during five contingency deployments, flying over 1,300 combat hours. Prior to his current position, Lt Col Ober was the Chief of Safety, 62d Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
