Lieutenant Colonel Kristina Dempsey

Lieutenant Colonel Kristina Dempsey is the Commander of the 627th Communications Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. As commander, Lt Col Dempsey is responsible for organizing, training, equipping, and leading 140+ Airman and civilian personnel supporting combatant command requirements and providing command, control, communications, and computer support to the largest joint base in the Department of Defense, totaling over forty-nine thousand joint personnel. Additionally, she is also responsible for the operation and execution of the Executive Airlift Communications Network (EACN) mission, providing 24/7 secure/non-secure communication services in support of POTUS, VPOTUS, SECSTATE, SECDEF, CCDRs, Joint Chiefs and other national senior leaders. Prior to assuming command, she served as an Information Operations Instructor at Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.

Lieutenant Colonel Dempsey was commissioned in 2005 as a graduate of California State University San Bernardino Reserve Officer Training Corps. She has served in a variety of positions at base level along with tactical communications, cyber, and information operations. Including a tour in Afghanistan. Her staff assignments include Numbered Air Force, Major Command and the Joint Staff.
