Lieutenant Colonel JOHN LeGLOAHEC

Lieutenant Colonel John P. LeGloahec is dual hatted as Deputy Director, Directorate of Public Works and Commander, 627th Civil Engineer Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. In these roles, he leads 490 civilians and 120 Airmen in the maintenance, repair, and sustainment of the infrastructure and facilities on the largest Army-led Joint Base with a $21.5B plant replacement value. Joint Base Lewis-McChord serves as the Department of Defense’s premier West Coast power projection platform and is home to the Army’s First Corps and the Air Force’s 62d Airlift Wing along with a myriad of other sister service and special operations units. Additionally, he is responsible for the full spectrum readiness and training of more than 4,000 Airman on McChord Field, preparing them with the ability to survive and operate in contested or contaminated environments.

Lt Col LeGloahec was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky and spent his youth on the move as an Army dependent where he attended 11 schools in 12 years of primary education. He received his commission in 2007 through the Air Force Officers’ Reserve Training Corps at New Mexico State University. His service includes engineering and logistics roles at the squadron, group, wing, major command, and geographic combatant command levels. Career assignments comprise theater-wide program management, contingency construction in support of regular and special operations forces, airfield pavement evaluation, crisis response, and joint operations. He has also supported a myriad of operations through deployments to the Middle East, Asia, and East Africa.

Prior to this assignment, Lt Col LeGloahec served as the Executive Officer to the Director of Logistics, United States Africa Command, United States Army Garrison Stuttgart, Germany. In this role, he was responsible for providing executive-level guidance and management of the Directorate’s senior officers, daily battle rhythm, and the administrative support staff, supporting sustainment operations throughout the 53-country theater.
