Major DENISE A. CASPERS

Maj. Denise A. Caspers is the Commander, 62d Aerial Port Squadron, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. She is responsible for a major aerial port and commercial gateway for passenger and cargo movement on channel and contingency missions worldwide, in which 250 personnel support all facets of air transportation. Maj. Caspers maintains resources in a constant state of readiness and deploys them worldwide. Additionally, she provides oversight for contracted aerial delivery services responsible to prepare airdrop platforms supporting the wing’s unilateral airdrop training mission.

Maj. Caspers began her career July 1997 as an enlisted Civil Engineer Readiness Technician. During her 14-year enlistment, she also served as a Personnel Specialist. In 2007, she graduated from Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources. After attaining the rank of Master Sergeant, she was selected for and earned her commission in December 2011 through the Officer Training School. Her previous positions include Installation Deployment Officer, Group Executive Officer, Aerial Port Operations Officer, and Director of Operations. Prior to her current position, Maj. Caspers was the Deputy Chief, Logistics Operations Branch, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe and U.S. Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Maj. Caspers deployed in 2003 as a Personnel Support for Contingency Operations systems operator to the 363d Air Expeditionary Wing, Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM. In 2005, she deployed as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Personnel Support for Contingency Operations, to the 407th Air Expeditionary Group, Ali Base, Iraq, in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Finally, Maj. Caspers deployed in 2014 to the 380th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. During this deployment, she was both the Deployment and Distribution Flight Commander and the Installation Deployment Officer.
