Lieutenant Colonel MATTHEW WEINBERG

Lt Col Adam Bergoo is the Commander, 7th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. He leads 150 Airmen to provide responsive and professional global mobility for the United States and allies, overseeing the training and readiness of C-17A combat aircrews. The 7th Airlift Squadron is responsible to national leadership for securing U.S. interests through the effective employment of C-17A airland and airdrop capabilities across the full range of military operations, to include major combat operations, contingencies, aeromedical, and humanitarian missions.

Lt Col Bergoo was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He received his commission in 2009 as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and a Minor in Spanish. He earned his aeronautical rating through Euro-NATO Joint Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base. He has been a member of the Language Enabled Airmen Program since 2013.

Lt Col Bergoo has over 2,900 hours and 550 combat hours in the C-17A, T-38, and T-6. He has conducted ground and flying deployments in support of, among others, Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and SPARTAN SHIELD. As a member of the Language Enabled Airman Program, he has utilized his language capabilities in support of joint and combined operations in Colombia, Guatemala, and Honduras.
