LIEUTENANT COLONEL RYAN C. ROSSI

Lt Col Ryan C. Rossi currently serves as the Commander of the 62d Operations Support Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.  The 62 OSS enables the daily execution of airlift, airdrop, aeromedical evacuation, and humanitarian missions around the globe supporting U.S. national interests.  Lt Col Rossi commands more than 270 military and civilian personnel, as well as eight unique flights with 13 Air Force Specialty Codes including Airfield Operations, Current Operations, Weather, Intelligence, Readiness, Tactics, Aircrew Training, and Aircrew Flight Equipment.

Lt Col Rossi received his commission from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2006 while attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, FL.  Lt Col Rossi has 16 years of active duty service and is a Senior Pilot with more than 3,500 hours flying in the T-6A, T-1A, MC-12W, and C-17A.  He has flown combat missions in operations Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, Enduring Freedom, and Inherent Resolve.

Prior to his current assignment, Lt Col Rossi was the Chief, Nuclear Airlift Operations, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Illinois.  In this position he was responsible for maintaining the Air Force’s only Prime Nuclear Airlift Force, supporting nuclear airlift operations for the Department of Defense nuclear stockpile and the Department of Energy’s special nuclear material.
