More than the Mission
The 30 children, five care takers, and three staff members of the Malayaka House orphanage received more than $20,000 raised by the Airmen combat controllers from the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron. Special Tactics combat controllers are the Air Force’s special operations ground forces, and Special Operations Command’s air integration force.

More than the Mission
Special Tactics Airmen from the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron helped raise more than $20,000 for the Malayaka House orphanage in Entebbe, Uganda. The Special Tactics mission in Africa focuses on airfield assessment, which makes austere locations more accessible to local governments and humanitarian organizations for future operations and disaster relief.

Congressman Derek Kilmer, 6th District of Washington, presents Staff Sgt. John Campbell, Air Force veteran, with the Purple Heart Jan. 25, 2015 at American Lake Chapel, Tacoma, Wash. Campbell was wounded Jan. 1, 1970, during an enemy attack while he was stationed in Laos.
