5th ASOS Change of Command 2026

U.S. Airmen assigned to the 5th Air Support Operations Squadron salute during a change of command ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, June 15, 2026. Lt. Col. John Grucella, 5th ASOS outgoing commander, thanked the squadron for their hard work and dedication and relinquished command to Lt. Col. Craig Lower, 5th ASOS commander. The 5th ASOS specializes in communicating tactical air support in aid of ground combat operations, controlling airpower assets to bring the fight from above.
