62nd MXG Professional of the Week
An electro-environmental systems craftsman, Sergeant Coleman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the office and strives to spread expertise whenever and wherever possible. Recently, he spearheaded a preventative maintenance initiative for C-17 Globemaster III pneumatic systems in the C-17 home station check process. The 90-day test has the potential to identify significant areas for improvement in the scheduled maintenance arena sparing thousands of annual man-hours and unscheduled maintenance time. Sergeant Coleman also organized and led a successful Paint Tacoma Beautiful project consisting of 12 members from quality assurance donating 174 volunteer hours in August. McChord Airmen celebrate 10 years of C-17 Globemaster III missions to 'the ice"
McChord Airmen of the 304th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron gather on the Pegasus ice runway near McMurdo Station, Antarctica Oct. 15. The Airmen delivered more than 95,000 pounds of cargo and four passengers to “the ice” on a mission that marked the 10th Anniversary of the C-17's Globemaster III’s first Operation Deep Freeze flight – Oct. 15,1999. “Our motto – ‘Perfect … Always’, has been the standard for the last decade,” said Lt. Col. Jim McGann, 62nd Operations Group deputy commander. “We’ve flown more than 300 missions, set aviation records and made aviation history while flying to the most remote place on the planet,” said Colonel McGann. "The C-17 has revolutionized how we do business down here," said Lt. Col. Robert Wellington, 304th EAS commander, working for Joint Task Force Support Forces Antarctica. "We can better satisfy user requirements - we're leaner, more efficient, and use fewer resources.” (Courtesy photo)
