JOINT BASE LEWIS MCCHORD, Wash. -- Leadership from the 62d Airlift Wing hosted congressional staff members from the office of Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) for an immersive mission and readiness tour at JBL M on Aug. 26, 2026.
During the visit, U.S. Air Force Col. Jessica Regni, 62 AW Commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Matthew DiNunzio, 62 AW Command Chief, provided the staff delegation with a comprehensive update on current operations across the wing’s assigned mission sets, highlighting key readiness initiatives directly supporting U.S. Indo-Pacific Command operations.
Throughout the day, the delegation received an in-depth, hands on look at McChord’s operational capabilities and infrastructure updates. This included a tour of McChord Field Fire Station 105, detailing necessary facility renovations, a C-17 Globemaster III static display which included a briefing on Operation Deep Freeze, and a hangar walkthrough where the 62d Maintenance Squadron and 62d Aerial Port Squadron showcased innovative sustainment and readiness initiatives.
The engagement also offered congressional staff an opportunity to connect with squadron commanders, senior enlisted leaders and Airmen, reinforcing open communication and shared priorities between the installation and regional congressional representation.
