JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Professional staff members from the House Armed Services Committee visited the 62d Airlift Wing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wednesday, August 18th, to see firsthand what Team McChord is capable of. Staffers were greeted by U.S. Air Force Col. Jessica Regni, 62d AW commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Matthew DiNunzio, 62d AW command chief, who introduced the wing's responsibilities.
Staffers learned about the various mission sets that Team McChord takes part in, and how the C-17 Globemaster III facilitates rapid global mobility. Wing leadership briefed staffers indoors before inviting them onto the flightline to meet and hear from some of the aircrew themselves while aboard a C-17. A U.S. Army M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System was also used to showcase both the joint interoperability of the wing and its partners in addition to the cargo capabilities of the C-17.
