Three players from the 62nd Medical Group scored in the double figures to lead a balanced scoring attack as they defeated the 1st Air Support Operations Group, 58-20, Tuesday night at the fitness center.

Using center George Fulleton's strong inside presence and the 3-point shooting of Demetrius Office and Kristopher Auger, MDG jumped out to a 20-10 lead midway through the first half. Fulleton continued to dominate inside, helping push the lead to 27-12 after scoring baskets on a lay up down low and a turnaround jumper.

MDG led 31-15 at the half as Fulleton led the way with 14 points.

Things didn't get any better for ASOG (1-1) as they started the second half by going without a field goal for nearly six minutes.

MDG (1-1) continued to feed the ball to the post, which opened up wide-open looks. Auger seized the moment, draining 3's from outside on his way to 17 points in the game.

"We knew we needed to move the ball around a little more to free up our big man [Fulleton]," guard Harry Dennard said. "We get it to our big guys and that helps us get Office and Auger in the mix."

The plan worked well as Office finished with 14 points while Fulleton added a game-high of 20.

MDG's 2-3 zone defense also had everything working right, limiting ASOG to just five points in the second half.

"We got off to a rough start last year," Dennard said. "That made it that much more important to get off to a good start this year."
