Lieutenant Colonel AYANA TUCHSCHERER

Lieutenant Colonel Ayana N. Tuchscherer is the Commander, 62d Aerial Port Squadron at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. She is responsible for a major aerial port and commercial gateway for passenger and cargo movement on channel and contingency missions worldwide, in which 250 personnel support all facets of air transportation. Lt Col Tuchscherer maintains resources in a constant state of readiness and deploys them worldwide. Additionally, she provides oversight for contracted aerial delivery services responsible to prepare airdrop platforms supporting the wing’s unilateral airdrop training mission.

Lt Col Tuchscherer is prior-enlisted and received her commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2007. Since graduation, she has served in a variety of operational and staff assignments in multiple combatant commands. She deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a logistics advisor to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces. Prior to her current assignment, she was the Commander of the 90th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, where she led a team of 216 logistics professionals responsible for supply, transportation, fuels, vehicle maintenance and logistics planning in direct support of the 20th Air Force and 90th Missile Wing’s ICBM mission.
